Meet the Team
Their aim is to provide the highest levels of customer service and hospitality in order to make your stay both pleasureable and memorable.
After a career in the Police Force spanning some 30 years which saw service in general duties, country and one-,an stations, Police Prosecuting Section, teaching management for the Academy and Wollongong University, setting up the Police Assistance Line and working as a Project Officer for the Commissioner, I was forced to retire needing Oesophagus reconstruction. Colette had given up her career in banking to start a home business as a nail technician to provide more time to care for our three children. After a number of years we decided to head out and find a business in hospitality somewhere up the coast. We did not get far, arriving in the Hunter we quickly realised its potential and abounding attributes. We soon settled on the “Hunter Haven Bed & Breakfast” as our home and career.
Although we allowed ourselves a year to get up and running we quickly found our feet after just 3 months of trading. Not being ones to stand still we expanded our operations to include transport to concerts, weddings, restaurants and wineries and after 5 years have built up a successful operation now being booked up to three months in advance with an occasional wedding up to 12 months.
The “Hunter Haven” has been the source of success and enjoyment – a few small weddings around the pool, a couple of marriage proposals and many a great night with our “Host A Murder” dinner nights. Various accommodation packages have seen a build up of regular guests, many who have become friends, many describing us as the “home away from home”.
